1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Sovia handles information when you use the Sovia mobile application, website, and related services. “Sovia,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the provider of these services.
2. Information stored on your device
Sovia is designed around local storage. Information you create in the app—including reflections, conversation history, memories, profile details, actions, tasks, mentor preferences, and onboarding choices—is stored in the app’s local data container on your device.
We do not operate an account system or a cloud database that syncs or archives this content. Your device, operating-system backups, and any services you independently use to back up your device may handle local app data under their own settings and policies.
3. Information processed for AI features
When you ask Sovia to generate a response or summary, the app sends the material needed for that request to our Cloudflare-hosted relay. Depending on the feature, this can include your current conversation, mentor preferences, profile context, relevant memories, actions, tasks, and check-in context.
The relay validates the request and forwards it to Google Gemini to generate a response. It is stateless: Sovia does not write your submitted content or the generated response to a server-side database, and our application logs do not record request bodies. Content is held only as needed to complete the live request.
Google processes prompts, context, and generated responses under the Gemini API Additional Terms and Google Privacy Policy. Google may retain API content for a limited period for safety, abuse prevention, legal, or operational purposes. Those practices are controlled by Google, not by Sovia.
4. Voice input
If you choose voice input, Sovia requests microphone permission and uses Apple’s speech-recognition technology to turn speech into text. Sovia does not upload or retain your raw audio on its servers. The resulting text is treated like text you type and is sent for AI processing only when you submit it.
5. Technical information
When the app or website connects to infrastructure providers, they may process ordinary network and operational information such as IP address, request timing, device or browser details, error information, and security signals. Cloudflare processes traffic for our API, and Google processes AI requests. We use this information only to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
The Sovia website currently does not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
6. Retention and deletion
Your saved Sovia content remains on your device until you delete it in the app or remove the app and its data. Because Sovia does not keep a server-side account or content archive, there is no separate Sovia cloud copy to request. Third-party processors may retain limited information for the periods described in their own terms and policies.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted network transport and a stateless application architecture. No system is completely secure, so please avoid submitting information you would not want processed by an AI provider.
8. Age requirement
Sovia is not directed to anyone under 18, and you must be at least 18 years old to use its AI features.
9. Changes and questions
We may update this policy as the product or its data practices change. The effective date above will show when the latest version took effect. For privacy questions, use the support channel listed on Sovia’s App Store page.
